Certua Life Limited, the first new protection-focused life insurer to be authorised in the UK in nearly two decades, today announces its launch. Certua Life is the first UK life insurance business to combine an insurance licence with the technology to embed life insurance into the digital services millions of people already use.<\/p>\n
More than half of UK adults and the employees of 5.5 million SMEs have no financial safety net if they die or fall seriously ill. Not because they don\u2019t need cover, but because traditional life insurance was never built to reach them. The FCA\u2019s Pure Protection Market Study, published in January 2026, found that 58% of UK adults hold no protection product at all, 72% of protection needs remain unmet, and more than 80% of sales still go through intermediaries most people never use.<\/p>\n
Certua Life\u2019s products sit inside the apps and platforms customers already use, from banking and savings to employee benefits and wealth management. Life insurance is presented where customers are already thinking about their financial lives, inside a platform they already trust, with no clunky handoff to a third party. Cover can be applied for in minutes, renews annually, and adapts as customers\u2019 lives change. For partners, one integration replaces the complexity of legacy insurance, and a commercial model built on recurring revenue replaces the cycle of indemnified commission, clawback, and churn.<\/p>\n
